There will be a fun benefit concert tomorrow by the Gloucester Hornpipe & Clog Society, which will offer a rollicking evening of music from Celtic, New England, sea chanty, and Canadian traditions. All proceeds will go to the Rebekah Carter Fund to help pay the expenses of the 11- and 13-year-old sons of the step-sister of a dear friend of mine. Rebekah has been hospitalized since February after emergency surgery. She is now in a rehab hospital and expected to return to work eventually, but the concert will help hold the family together until then.
The concert will be at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 4, in the Friends Meeting House in Cambridge, at 5 Longfellow Park (off Brattle Street). There will be a free-will offering with a suggested donation of $10.
I am planning to go, and I hope to see some of you there!
