http://www.webmd.com/brain/news/20120410/dental-x-rays-linked-brain-tumors Exposure to ionizing radiation -- the kind found in X-rays -- is the biggest known environmental risk factor for largely non-malignant meningioma brain tumors.
Let's see if I can remember how many xrays I got from when I started hearing "She's a Class 3 - we'll be doing surgery when she stops growing to correct that" - nope. Impossible. Every. Single. Time!!!!! I went to the dentist, for the three times I had braces growing up, in preparation for the maxillofacial surgery I had at 18, they did xrays. Not just bitewings, but "stand in this metal cage as this camera swirls around your head" panorama type xrays, xrays of my hand over and over, xray xray oh wait something might have changed XRAY.
Shocked I'm not freaking riddled with these things. And interesting that I didn't go to the dentist for YEARS - but I just started again in the past ... oh ... 5-10 years, where I got yearly xrays, and the past 10 years is when this thing grew.
I know it's not just this - this just annoyed me today.
