How did the past week go by so fast! I can't believe it's Weds already, and half way through the month!?
Trip to Chicago was a whirlwind. The conference was good - some of the stuff was useless, some of it was awesome, and I have way too many notes and ideas and a huge wishlist of functionality I want to implement here at work. Met up with some people I have only talked to online prior to this, which was great, we got taken out to dinner by a vendor, went to Kinzie's Chop House, and we were there the night the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup for the first time in like 49 years, so all in all, sleep was not something we did a lot of, and I'm sure it helped me catch the cold I'm still fighting right now.
The trip home sucked, between the 2 1/2 hrs in traffic to get to the airport, then the flight being delayed time and time again, the allergic reaction that hit me out of the blue that I *THINK* was caused by guacamole *pout*, and not getting home till 3:30am...I wonder why I used to wish I could travel more. Flared the hell out of my fibro, too.
Work is absolutely nuts - lots of things up in the air, and yesterday I was asked to be the interim manager for another department that slightly overlaps onto mine, until things are settled - the manager is leaving, and the new Director of Marketing starting, both on the same day, so there would be no way to do a transfer of knowledge - I took a crash course in Marcom planning, budgeting, employee job descriptions, etc, yesterday, and my head is spinning. Tomorrow I have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to CT (each way) for a 2 hour meeting with the web team from another division...feeling the stress.
