Got a message back on Ancestry about the tree I thought my half sister had created - turns out it's NOT her, it's her husband. I don't think I've seen or spoken to him since I was a teenager. Apparently my sister is not technically savvy, and it seems that the stuff he has on there is all from research rather than family knowledge. That is cool cause it means I've missed a lot, and that means there's more to do. This Sunday being both Mother's Day AND my brother's birthday, I am going to try to get mom and Eric over so we can work on this a bit...this has inspired us.
For the record - I don't think I have enjoyed a character in a book as much as I am enjoying "Abby Normal" from the "Bloodsucking Fiends"/"You Suck"/"Bite Me" trilogy. She is just SO fucking funny.......
Driving home last night got caught in some awesome storms. Hail and pouring rain (tiny hail - only gumball sized) and I SWEAR I saw what could have been a funnel cloud had it been more unstable - right under the hail, dropping down and hanging over Rt. 3. SO cool. I hate heat, but there's nothing quite as amazing in a primal way for me as a thunderstorm.
Big meeting all afternoon, and I have to finish my presentation for next week for the talk in Chicago, which I am now completely freaked about, in a "wake up in the middle of the night wondering how to do this" way. =(
