It's miserable out - ice/rain/slush, slippery roads, big wet cold raindrops that pound your head when you stand outside - but that's not stopping folks from getting out early to vote, as MA is part of the whole Super Tuesday thing. No line when I showed up, but the traffic in and out of the school was non-stop. And the polls had only been open 20 mins when I got there, so what the heck...
Feeling better - some stomach issues associated with the new Cholestyramine powder, but my doctor told me to scale back to half of the dose until I get used to it. Actually hit 180 AND lost an inch around my hips (although I'm back up to 183 right now...stupid Superbowl weekend) - and I'm getting much better at the bike in the morning, not as winded and my heartrate not skyrocketing into the 130s as I bike - so I'm feeling good about that too. Actually, in general I feel pretty good. Someone make a plaque with the date on it...this never happens.
Nice weekend, went to see mom, and brought her the special lamp to see if that will help - didn't think she'd take it, but she was excited to try it, and given that the whole week pretty much is grey/rainy/icy, I think that's good. Will be interesting to see what's up.
Report cards came home Friday - Tyler in high honors again, all As this whole year so far. Kelsey got As and Bs, with only one C, and that was in German, so the concern is not high - she's struggling, but she always has and probably always will - I suddenly understand what my brother went through when we were growing up, because I'm watching Kelsey compare herself to Tyler unfairly, and I know that happened to Eric with me...and it's not cool. I try really hard to celebrate each kid seperately, but that doesn't seem to stop the self-comparison.
Went Glow-Bowling yesterday with work, as a break and a "job well done" from our boss - GOD do I suck at non-Wii bowling!! LOL I bowled like a 38. *sigh* The thing is, I had to wear those stupid shoes, and I still can't wear ANY shoes with backs without pain, so I had to get a size too big - and then I was so busy watching my feet so I do not hurt my ankle, that I did not pay attention to my wrist...gutter ball extraordinaire! But it was lots of fun, and a good therapy after the frustration and disappointment experienced with the Superbowl.
And that's all I'll say about that.
=)
In terms of books - nearly done with "Invisible Monsters" - and it was worth pushing through the start of the story. I can now see why he's such a popular writer - don't love his style, in the least, it's fragmented and confusing - but the underlying story does pulse through, and it's enjoyable.
