Title: Shattered once, patched again
Word count: 131
Characters: Leon. Surprise appearance included.
Notes: Seems a little disembodied to me. I apologise but I just had to get this off my head, and as a plus point, this can be taken as a sequel to “Lesson learnt, lesson gambled”. You don't have to read it first, but I think this would make more sense if you did.

Summary: I was supposed to feel thankful, for Chris, my friends and the one who left with all the answered questions.

It was impossible for me to be stalking the streets in the pouring rain on this day, Thanksgiving of all days.

It was impossible not to feel grateful to Jill for inviting us over to her place even though it must have been crammed pack with her family and friends.

It was impossible not to remember as I walk past a familiar street, past a familiar now-empty shop house.

It was impossible not to stop and wonder what might have been, as oppose to what has been.

A lean shadow, an open umbrella and the beautiful face that haunts my dreams.

“My dear detective, happy thanksgiving,” The apparition says as he holds the embroidered umbrella over me, mismatched eyes gleaming in the fading light.

It was impossible but miracles do happen.
