Notes: response to challenge, 'Instinct'. Also slightly spoilery for "Desperation" (at least that's what I think it's called. Did anyone else's volume have different chapter names in the index from what was on the cover page of each chapter?) from vol. 9, but only by implication.
He can't help himself. Every time that smirking detective walks through the door, he longs to devour him. Not to consume him - oh, no; he'd never infect his belly with that human's fetid human viscera - merely sink is teeth into his throat and silence that infuriatingly cocksure voice forever. He'd paint himself with the man's blood and dance in gory exaltation. He'd make sure Leon never endangered anyone again.
He'd do all that, and gladly. If only D wouldn't tell him no. If only it wouldn't pain Chris beyond repair.
After all, it's instinctual to protect the ones you love.
