Oh, you've got him down pat, all right! I pictured him doing this, actually, in the "offscreen" moments when it was dark, or he was by himself, or both -- it would be really hard for him to shut out those voices that say he's going to fail, or has already failed. Thanks for this :)

Loved the fic, love this drabble. So much. So incredibly much. I can just see D sitting in the dark, waiting. I love the way the time counts down, and the end just trails off. It generates a very stong feeling, so that the reader feels what D does. Thank you so much for this drabble!

I wanted to put something about how the clock was the ONLY sound in the apartment (including/louder than D's breathing), but I sacrificed it for the word count.
