I really like the tone of this. I think it has the gravity that I've always associated with those watching D (whether it's his father or his grandfather). The last few lines are especially tasty to me!

Why do you look so worried, so tender? You'll only start screaming and throwing things when he does get here.

My favourite lines- I love the contrast, and the irony that they're both expressions of D's affection. (Sorry if I'm misreading.)

I really like this piece, especially how you depicted D. ^-^
