Favorite School UniformDay 30 - Anime Character You Want to Cosplay
I absolutely adore designing and putting together clothes, almost as much as I love wearing costumes. Halloween is my favorite holiday, because it's my excuse to wander through the streets of Washington, DC, wearing a home-made Akatsuki cloak and Syaringan contacts (or a Minmay costume, or a Fuji Syuusuke costume [while carrying my manga volume to show people who I am when they ask]...)
I have a list of characters a mile long who I want to cosplay, so
sumeria recommended that I post the character I have the most costumes I want to make for. That would be Okita Souji, who has the unique advantage of being in three series that I liked and being a real person.
As such, I'll start with the four main outfits from Hakuouki:
I already have the boots for the Western costume. The last three can also be done with white hair and red contacts for "rasetsu" version. The first one cannot, as he's "Happy Ending" Okita. In addition to the main outfits, Hakuouki also has the picture from the art calendar that I'd like to cosplay:
My solution for a costume with a bare torso didn't work so well on my Sasuke outfit last Otakon, so I'll need to come up with a new idea for that. The idea of a corset covered with a molded foam latex chest has occurred to me, but my friends like me too much to let me attempt it, and I know it. Still, I'll figure something out.
From Peacemaker Kurogane, he has two additional outfits:
I've got shoes for the kimono version of this, and a proper obi as well. That will probably be the first one I finish (since plain kimono are easy).
The Rurouni Kenshin version looks basically the same, except with a shorter ponytail, so I won't include it as a separate outfit. However, I would also like to recreate the picture presumed by historians to be the only recorded image of the man himself:
So, there you go. My cosplay addiction. The only character who has anywhere near that volume of costumes I want to make is Uchiha Sasuke, and that's only if you include the Goth-Loli crossdressing "Saki" version Sasuke costumes, which are really a separate character. Third after that, by volume, I have four different Lynn Minmay costumes that I've worn, and in fourth place would come my three Oruha costumes from Clover. Finally, Fuji Syuusuke will have to take fifth place, since I have both his Seigaku uniform and the recreation I made of the second act costume from Dream Live 1st. Those count more as costumes than the two versions of Taniyama Mai from Ghost Hunt.
