re: therapy... I'm doing it! and I've found it to be pretty helpful. I don't think it's the ONLY reason this past year has been the biggest change for me, but it's a part.
How far along are you in Uni? I know you've been there for a while, I'd figure you'd be in your last year wouldn't you? I've also gotten distracted from my schoolwork but it's also possibly because I was involved in a rather... unsavoury scene *laughs*. And every second a friend of mine, or a friend of a friend was overdosing, or getting shot, or arrested, or going to detox or... ehh, you know how it is... or.. wait no, you'd better not!
Anyway, I also definitely agree with the game inspiration thing, when I was younger and played a lot more they inspired poems and elements to loooong spans of fiction I wrote. There's definitely some creative gems in the game world, even from what I remember which I believe is considered the dark age now. *snicker*
I'm putting of University for a year, mostly to make money and upgrade some of my not-so-awesome marks. (Alas, my SAT scores mean nothing here). But I've gone to hell in a handbasket and then back again, or so it would seem.
I haven't heard from you in a zillion years though! Say hello sometime.
I registered late and missed important classes once (or twice), so I've got (hopefully) one more quarter next year before I'm done.
Role playing games are particularly inspiring, what with a custom main character that can react in various different ways to situations in the game. Which is why I've started a Baldur's Gate + Imoen Romance Mod novelization. And plans for an Arcanum fic, too. Starring a primped and pampered debutante who grows into a warrior mage of legendary power and, naturally, saves the world.
