I have actually seen and touched one of these. It is about the size of a dorm mini-fridge, and had a lot of threaded rod and plywood in addition to the plastic parts and electronics (stepper motors, controllers). The parts it produces have an unusual feel to them, as they are in fact extruded in layers.

But cool concept, especially in another 10 or 15 years development. The current RepRap is like the first 8 bit computers with 2K RAM.
