[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
NAME: Hisako Ichiki
CODENAME: Armour
SERIES/SOURCE: X-Men
AGE: Young- about 15?
GENDER: Female
ROLE: Student

AU BACKGROUND:
Hisako is a pretty average youngster with a fairly normal background. She grew up in Japan, living in the Ichiki household with her extended family including her grandparents. Her powers manifested when she was 13, and far from getting any grief about it from her family, they told her it was passed down through their bloodline from ancestor to ancestor. She eventually moved to America to study for one to two years, until the Institute opened its doors to young mutants like her. She enrolled right away- she'd heard about the X-Men and Xavier's mutants, and it was her lifelong ambition to become one. Even if they're not really doing the superhero stuff anymore. Plus, Hisako wanted to learn more about how to use her powers, and be around people her age who were like herself.

PERSONALITY:
Hisako is for the most part an easygoing and amicable teenager with a decent sense of humour. She is extremely unpretentious and not overly formal, and she's mostly unguarded, having nothing to hide. It shows in her speech patterns and conversation, as she tends to use contractions and more slang than a posh kid would.

She cares very much for her friends and will notices when they're feeling down and do her best to comfort them, whether it be through checking up on them or trying to take their mind off things through sparring, if they're the type. With her closer friends, she'll be very open and at ease and talk very casually and informally with them, as any teenager might. Should her friends come to harm or worse, she will be visibly emotionally distraught and will not easily forget the perpetrator. She's righteously indignant and almost petulant at times, especially to what she feels is unfair authority, but it all smooths out in the end.

In 616 canon, she's shown herself to be feisty and unassumingly courageous, willing to throw herself in the face of danger if it will protect her weaker friends or if it will help in any way at all. She reacts quickly to danger and crisis situations, usually by force through armouring up, but this works for her given the strength and durability of her armour. Hisako tends to play by the rules and will be slightly confused at first when she finds that they aren't always followed- codenames, for example, aren't always used in combat- but is able to accept this eventually. Not easily phased or scared, she takes things in her stride and adapts reasonably quickly to new situations and being thrown out of her comfort zone. As Armour, she's a good team player and will not hog the limelight, but put in her best effort and make certain sacrifices- like willingly getting herself captured- if her leader commands it, or if it gets the job done.

APPEARANCE:
Hisako looks like an average Japanese teenager her age. She's 5'4 with shoulder-length jet-black hair and straight bangs. Very normal, really.

POWERS:
Hisako can generate psionic body armour that is effectively a force field shaped around her own body, although it can be and usually is much larger than she herself is. This armour gives her superhuman strength and durability- she becomes strong enough to hurl heavyweights like Wolverine and Colossus into the air, and hardy enough to survive a fall through many layers of atmosphere and come out unburnt and without a scratch. It's not perfect, though- adamantium can pierce it, and so can lasers, because her armour still needs to let light through. It's transparent, usually either red or blue.

Hisako herself isn't too sure of what her armour is composed of. To her, it's her heritage and legacy passed down from a long line of her ancestors, a very physical concept of protection that she can somehow access. It might be formed out of memory, or history, or a familial sense of protection. It's hard to say, but definitely something of a psychic nature.

She will eventually be able to shape her armour in limited ways and release concussive blasts from it, but this takes a lot of effort and concentration and will be used infrequently, if at all.
