Alanna came into the room and upon seeing Lyta did her best to tip-toe over to her bed. Faithful jumped up on Alanna's desk and meowed.

Lyta smiled slowly, sensing Alanna and hearing the cat as she dragged herself back behind the walls she had reconstructed. Her eyes opened. "You don't have to tip-toe," she said, still smiling.

"I'm surprinsingly not good at it." Alanna admitted and flopped down on her bed befor remembering that she needed to feed her cat. "How are you?"

The smile slipped decidedly rueful. "Alive," she answered. "I'm still deciding whether or not I'm glad to be back in the dorms."

"Something wrong?" Alanna rummaged around and found a can opener and a can of tuna. Faithful's eyes were tracking her hands to a milimeter.

Lyta shook her head. "Not now. I wasn't feeling well last week." Stretching, she pushed herself onto her knees, then rose. She seated herself on the edge of her bed and rotated her ankles.

She smiled. "How about you? How did you enjoy the bonding experience with nature?"

"Nature. City. Same difference to me. I prefer the bathtubs city provides though." Faithful pounced the tuna. "Faithful didn't like the outdoors though." "Imph dimph toomph." "Chew."

Chuckling, Lyta shook her head. The talking cat thing was getting easier to deal with, even if it did still throw her for a loop once in a while. And now, especially around a mouthful of tuna. "No return to the wild for the great hunter?"

Faithful swallowed. "I figured I was more of a duck kind of cat." Alanna snorted. "That, and the goose was a good fives times your size. And stop terrorizing Bridge and any other students who might turn into animals!"

Lyta blinked. "Turned into animals? A spell go wrong?"

Faithful snorted and continued killing the tuna. Alanna scritched behind the ears. "Nope. People randomly turning into animals. Logan did a few times last term, as did Cam, and I think a few more people. Now we have Bridge the ferret."

A ferret? Wasn't there something about the Skywalker kid and a ferret? Shaking her head, Lyta cleared away the mental cobwebs. "I guess there really never is a boring moment around here. Though, the first time someone spontaneously combusts? I'm going home."

Alanna was quiet for a long time. "Congratulations! You are the fourth person today to break my brain!"

Lyta chuckled. "That wasn't my intention." Shoving herself off the bed, she went over to her storage cube and withdrew a package of the soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies she had discovered. "Here. It's good for what ails you. Instant fix!"

"Desert!" Faithful meowed happily. "Faithful." Alanna chided. "Chocolate is love. And makes all bad thoughts of people on fire leave my brain." "What's wrong with" Alanna placed a hand over Faithful's mouth. "miffle wifh fimp"

Lyta bit into a cookie. "Does he come with a muzzle?" An impish gleam lit her eyes.
