Heroes 1x20
All right, in my opinion this was without question the best episode yet of the season. I'm such a sucker for alternate time lines and universes and this just tickled all my fancies. I was literally cowering breathless in my chair the whole ep, with occasional pauses to squee. Squee.
-- Future bitter!Hiro still rocks my socks. While it's kind of sad to see a spontaneous and life-loving individual like Hiro lose his spark, he's still so cool. All dark and samurai-y and... slick. And only surpassed in coolness by:
-- FUTURE BITTER!PETER!! Augh, OMG! Tickle, tickle, tickle. Every scene he was in I was just DYING, and I'm not even that big of a Peter fan to begin with. With his scar and his tortured eyes and wife beater and stubbly chin and life in a seedy bar in Vegas, oh, just kill me now. And his POWERS. And the way he used them, so effortlessly and expertly and yet he's so jaded and haunted and. Wow. Really, really cool. The only thing he could lose is freaking Niki, god, I can't stand her.
-- Sylar impersonating Nathan was a good twist, though with his powers it's a painful glimpse into all the Heroes he killed back then. The 9th Wonders panel where Hiro runs him through with the sword was awesome, however, and when it finally happens for real the shot it will probably be framed just like that. Of course, it makes me sad because I always have a thing for the bad guys, and Sylar is such an excellent bad guy. ::pets his little head:: I'll be so sad when he gets taken out. ... ooo. Unless he won't. They'll need a season 2 villain, right? Right? ... Oh. Too stereotypical? Too implausible? Too repetitive? Pssh, I say. Man, I need a Sylar icon. I need to get on that straight away.
::coughs:: Anyway.
-- The supporting cast impressed me not so much. Matt was just a roughneck yes-man, as was Mohinder (though shaping up near the end), and the Claire thing? Meeh. Hiding as a brunette waitress is so Buffy, dude. And where the hell was Zack, anyway? They were going to be bestest best friends forever and check out cute guys together until they're old and grey. Right? No? Oh, whatev. <3 Zack. And Ando.
Oh, man, the shit is really about to hit the fan now, isn't it? I can hardly wait for the final episodes, which is more than I could say for Lost. ::pokes third season:: And this ep will definitely be watched a couple more times before the next one airs, let me tell you.
And now I want more future!Heroes dark 'verse stuff. Damn. I guess I'll have to write some. Starring Peter. And Sylar. Possibly in the shape of Nathan. Mmm-hmm.
