Girls, can't live with em, can't live without em.
Why why why do girls always 'friend zone' the nice guys? A couple could be literally perfect for each other, 'soulmates' even, but nothing will happen because the girl only thinks of him as a friend and nothing more. Then she goes out and dates assholes, gets her heart broken, and comes home crying to the guy friend.
There was this saying from south park: "All or nothing is easy, but to control yourself and only have a little bit at a time, that's discipline, that comes from within."
I've had 'nothing' for a long time now - been single for over 3 years. Then this girl (family friend) is coming over from china to study in september and she will be living with us. Problem is, she thinks of me as a brother and nothing more. That's even worse than being 'just a friend'.
So, instead of contining our 2 hour long phone conversations and endless msn chats, I am shutting her out. I'm tired of being 'friend zoned', or in this case, 'brother zoned'. I don't mind having online female friends because I won't see them everyday, but with this girl, I will, which makes it almost impossible to be 'just friends'.
I know I know, the 'proper' path to take is to continue being her friend, to have 'discipline' and see what happens, but the closer I get, the deeper I fall. I'm tired of acting like we're 'just friends' all the time when I'm starting to have feelings for her - I'll basically have to lie, put up an act, which I don't want to do. I'd rather not be her friend at all than continuing our friendship with an ulterior motive.
So there you have it - I cannot have it 'all' because she thinks of me as her brother. I don't have the discipline to continue being her friend, so I'm taking the easy way out and cutting myself off. Opinions? Bash away.
Of course, I know the main reason behind this 'brother' crap is because she's out of my league. If I looked like Brad Pitt, with the body to match.....
