New geekdom! And how geeky it is...

I haven't forgotten my LJ-page. I check in every other day, I just haven't had anything to say.

Now I do...

I've found a new high! (not that I've abandoned the old one. I would never... I'm just a little sick of the Supernatural fandom ATM)
Well, it all started about a month ago (maybe month and a half). Somewhere online I heard of Dr. Horribles Sing-Along-Blog and decided to check it out...

Dr Horrible is awesome!!!
(I'm usually against multiple punctuation marks (unless they create random smileys ;-3) (Dalí BTW, it's gonna be a thing, tell your friends))(I am, on the other hand, not at all opposed to multiple parenthesis within each other (as long as you make sure to have the correct number of parenthesises to close of every part ( I wouldn't want to have a never-ending parenthesis-clause, 'Tis simply not done! (is my geek showing?)))), but this was def a three-exclamation-point occasion)
8-D

Anyways, I watched Dr H's S-A-B like 30 times in a week and listened to the soundtrack and musical commentary countless times more. When I nerd out over something I don't do a half-assed job, that's for sure!

One thing led to another... or to be precice: Dr. H led to Neil Patrick Harris (in itself not a long leap), which in turn led to a rejuvenated interest in musicals (slightly longer leap). Been listening to Rent and Tick, tick, BOOM! for awhile now (not the versions with Harris in them, unfortunately, they're impossible to find!). Also some random versions of other works with Harris (including, but not limited to, one-time gigs like the sesame-street perfomance, Emmy and Tony-hostings, Take Me Or Leave Me w/ Burtka etc.). And radio-theater w/ Harris. And obviously I'm now completely caught up on How I Met your Mother. Am watching Stark Raving Mad ATM (it's unexpectedly good, actually).
I may also be watching Doogie but I would never admit it, but it's more than just lame, so I might just give up on that.

Sub-geekdom: I am very impressed by Neil and his accomplishments! Really.
He seems like a fun and spontaneous guy, obviously very multitalented: He likes magic, so he incorporates it in his job, and pursues it - gets on the board of the Magic Castle. He sings, so he does that every once in a while, hops on fun little projects like Dr. H.. He embraced how they were going to make fun of him in the Harold & Kumar movies and got on board with it instead of bitching out. He somehow got interested in Accomplice: New York, decided to make one in L.A. and succeeded! The list goes on of his spontaneous awesomeness...
What really impresses me is how happy he seems at every interview, like a six-year-old on christmas to use a cliché. Saw some HIMYM interview w/ him where they're gonna do some fan questions and the interviewer says something like 'actually, what most people are asking about is Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog...', and he instantly perks up in his seat and says "Really?" in this high-pitched voice and his eyes actually even sparkle a little. Seriously, that's a guy who loves his job! He just seems to be so happy!
Is it weird if I say I want to live his life?

So... No half-assed job here. Nuh-uh. When I geek, I do one hell of a geekin'! (True story...)

I also apparently need a Dr H icon for future occasions. This doesn't feel right...
Nah, who am I kidding? The Impala is always right!

dr horrible, neil patrick harris, total geek-out
