Council Morons
Someone working for Islington Council is a proper retard. We've been getting all kinds of random letters from them requesting strange council tax amounts. Now, we should not pay ANY council tax since all members of the household are students.
Well then the council got all pissy and on a technicality said that we should pay council tax for last summer because I was between two degrees and technically not a student for 3 months and because my ex-flatmate's uni had apparently accidentally written him a student statement for too short period. So we were supposed to pay a bit over £200.
Well yesterday I got 3 different letters in the mail, saying I have to pay that amount for EVERY summer I have ever lived here. WTF??? I was only in between degrees one summer, the wankers! And my other flatmate only lived here for a year!
Then today, only a day after that random bombardment of letters, we get yet another letter, a fucking liability order, saying if we don't pay £1132.57 right now they will come and start seizing our property! Like where the fuck did they come up with that?!?!?!?!?!
They have previously "accidentally" sent us orders to court because we didn't pay our council tax. This was because they had lost our paper work and forgot that we were students. I can only imagine what kind on incompitent imbeciles work at Islington Council...
We are now trying to get an actual meeting with the idiots. Sorting stuff over the phone/email does not seem to work. Fortunately we have kept all the 20+ random letters and court orders the Council have accidentally sent us....
I better not come back from Finland and find out that they've seized all my sex toys as collateral!
