Audition

So in a couple of weeks (well a little less) Raleigh Little Theater is auditioning for "The Light in the Piazza", and I intend to audition. The main character is a 26 yearold female with golden hair from Winston Salem.

I am trying to decide what song is better to audition with. "In My Life" from Les Mis or "Wishing you Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom. The subject matter for "In My Life" is more appropriate, but I believe"Wishing you were Somehow here again" has a larger range.  Perhaps I will look in my music books to make sure there isn't anything else more appropriate, but I know both of those well, and can sing them well.

I am also concerned about the southern accent, though I think I can pull it off as long as I don't try too hard.

I am not going to be in it if I do not get Clara, the main character. It isn't a thing of I am too good for anything else. I do think I am good, but normally I would accept an ensemble role, except I was just in a show and I just got my week nights back. So if I don't get the lead, I don't really want to spend the time on it. . . when i told my mom this she said "Good for you" I hope they don't think I am full of myself.

Well I better go so I can get gas and then go to work. Bye!
