• Manly as a man in running shorts can be
Today was my second time that I had a first day of cadaver lab. My first time involved a cadaver we named El Gigante, he was incredible because he was large, fit and well muscled. If you have ever had to dissect a fellow human being (hopefully embalmed and long since dead) you will know that a low-fat, high-muscle cadaver is a gem. Most cadavers are heavy, light of muscle, and well pretty gross.
My new cadaver is extremely thin and her legs appear to have no muscle in them. I would be surprised to hear if her legs actually supported her. When we flipped her over to begin on the back I actually felt really sad for her. We can no longer be told cause of death for any cadaver (HIPPA regulations) so I can only hope that the end of this woman's life was a good one. She had the heart to donate her body to science so that people like me could benefit from her. The people who do this actually have to pay for the embalming process and transportation so the only thing that they get out of it is the piece of mind that, in death, they are helping others. So despite how hard it will be to dissect her I give this woman my thanks.
On a more, um, odd note. Very few people have the nerve to dress in shorts such as mine and run around in public. To make matters worse I wear those same shorts when I go weight lifting. I see the people in muscle shirts (ps those are SO dumb. Why did you cut the sleves off a perfectly good shirt? It doens't look cool. Wear a tank top, honestly...) and shorts that could almost function as pants and have to snicker at their occasional odd looks. Where am I going with this? I'm not quite sure, probably something about runners being superior to everyone else but that goes without saying.
Quetzalcoatl procured his Beaststalker gloves yesterday. Essentially the entire suit of the Beaststalker Armor gives the wearer (the hunter specifically) spectacular power or something. Unfortunately finding the entire set involves fighting horribly powerful creatures. I also await with bated breath for the coming of the next patch to WoW, in which hunters (such as myself) are completely redone.
Yesterday was 45 min
6 miles
Today was lifting weights and smelling of embalming fluid.
I really need to start running in the morning and lifting in the evening rather than trying to do both (one after the other in the evening).
