Despite an autumn which often felt somber, I find myself in a better mood at the moment than I did when
last year's holiday post went up here...
That span of time between then and now has been an eventful one for me, with a renewed embrace of fandom and a surprising amount of travel--as implied by

Right, I remember you were Canadian, I'm glad there are Canadian fan events for you to visit.
I loved Robin of Sherwood as a kind. It was much more mystical than any other versions, I thought, and I remember liking the depictions of the merry men (and their families.) And of course the theme song!
Funny that you mention reconnecting with things you used to know. As of one week ago, I've reconnected with Back to the Future-fandom. Last time was when the game came out in 2012 (and there's a guy who edited all the cut scenes into a movie trilogy.) It is only a matter of time before I re-watch the movies. (At least the first two...) I just need to get into the right headspace where I'm prepared to fall in love again. I'm not quite there yet. :-)
I will stream one new thing this holiday - The Netflix film Troll, because it looks fun and seems somewhat connected to Norwegian folklore.

As a huge fan of the Back to the Future franchise, I'm all for you reconnecting with it--but I won't have you disparaging the third film like that! :P
How well does Troll hold up from a Scandinavian perspective? I've seen it recommended to me a number of times, but haven't decided whether to try it out.

ETA: I have now seen Troll. It was way too Norwegian-specific for me to relate to, but I liked the film. The CGI was a liiiiiitle faulty in some scenes but overall I can recommend it.
Have you played (or watched a play-through of) The Back to the Future Game? I played it in 2012 and watched it on YouTube again recently.

I never played the Back to the Future game you referred to, but I did watch a compilation of its cutscenes shortly after it was originally released--which was quite a while ago now, so I wouldn't mind rewatching that "fourth film" at this point.
