One week gone

My first week of summer vacation has been better than I ever could have imagined. I did the following things:

1) Went to the beach and swam in the ocean (though it was deathly cold and I could only keep myself in there for about 5 minutes at a time.)
2) Played Magic: The Gathering with John Flynn and discovered that our primary decks work very weirdly off of eachother and are pretty well matched. I'm goanna start calling mine Nadal and John, you should start calling yours Federer! Deal?
3) Rode my bike all around the city in driving rain on Tuesday (today.) It was fun as hell. Everything in my glorious messenger bag stayed bone dry. I bought a deeply discounted new Ben Sherman at Lord and Taylor and changed into it once the rain stopped.
4) Did pub quiz and talked with a couple of folks who are going into the 2nd year of the MPP program at Heller. Yay networking! One of them also invited me to do some pro-bono volunteer research stuff at HSRI later this summer. I may take her up on that.
5) Watched lots and lots of Wimbledon tennis, including the 2nd best match I've ever seen: the Andy Roddick/Roger Federer final (ok, I watched it on replay, but I was at the beach in Newburyport while it was going on live, so really I don't regret it.)
6) Cut my hair again because it's a bitch to control in the summer and I just feel more comfortable with the hair that requires no maintenence and I can wash once a week!
7) Stocked up on canned beans and tuna from the sales at Star Market! I look at my pantry and it looks like I'm preparing for the apocalypse!

I'm digging it! Bring on more summer!
