Today I went to a workshop on affordable/subsidized housing in Downtown Crossing, which means that I was 25 yards away from the Sox parade but I was sitting in an auditorium talking about how you can't get cheap housing if you've ever distributed or synthesized meth...blah!
Afterwards, as I was leaving, Winter Street was bisected by a line of cops in riot helmets just standing there doing nothing. It was odd.
