I just finished reading
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, by Robert M. Pirsig. It was at the recommendation of several people (including
logicbunnies and
Prof. Davidson); I wasn't wild about it, because I'm not really in the mood for that sort of philosophical engagement at the moment. I found the human story much more interesting than the actual philosophical discussions. Maybe it's too dated.
Anyway next I'm on to
Family Pictures, by Sue Miller, which
my thesis advisor recommended to me. Recently I've read the following:
Empire Falls, Richard Russo
Pnin, Vladimir Nabokov
The Year of Magical Thinking, Joan Didion
Caramelo, Sandra Cisneros
Babyji, Abha Dawesar
Enduring Love, Ian McEwan
Magical Urbanism, Mike Davis
And some more I can't really remember.
