Ok, so today is the birthday of Ono Daisuke and Koizumi Itsuki. I'm having a final tomorrow, and what I write cannot be seen by OnoD and ItsukiK anyway, so why am I celebrating this? Maybe because I'm a fan. I mean, NF made a whole book for this =_=
Title: Did you know? The World Loves You
Fandoms: Suzumiya Haruhi, Dear Girl ~Stories~ Hibiki, DRRR!!, AIR and real life
Pairings: OnoD and the world
Disclaimer: This involves not only copyright characters that do not belong to me but also a real person (who of course does not belong to me).
Warning: Huge dose of OnoD.
In the studio, a brief celebration of Ono Daisuke's anniversary took place. Even if it involved crossdressing and getting spanked by Hiroshi for the number of years he has lived (when you're over 30 that could get long and painful), it was a cheerful event.
In a fictional world ruled by a reality warper who's a young girl with crazy ideas, Koizumi Itsuki did not know he was loved. In a way, he was uncertainty personified. He didn't know what he wanted or what other want of him. He only knew that Suzumiya need to be loved. He did his best to love, supporting her, protecting her, distracting her when she's bored or unhappy. With time he came to love Kyon too, and soon loved the whole SOS Dan as a family he didn't want to lose. He wished he could be loved back, though he didn't know if they did, do or will. When he was about to give up, a party was organised. "To our beloved vice-leader and friend, happy birthday." His mask slipped off without warning.
In a fictional Ikebukuro, a man in bartender suit opens the door to his home. His brother has greeted him with a small cake and a face as robotic as ever. To Shizuo, however, Kasuka was smiling. "Happy Birthday", his little brother said. A roomful of people burst out to repeat the message. One dropped her helmet and spent the rest of the night visibly headless. No one was bothered.
The work has come to an end, for today. Someone far away was humming a familiar air. For a moment Ono feels that it was not night but day, that the sky was blue and the sun bright. When the source of the sound drifted away too far to be audible, he tried to sing himself. Perhaps he was too tired, for he kept singing off-key and off-tempo. He tried another song. It came out ok.
Ono turned off the light, said goodnight to the room and closed the door. He passed by a vending machine as he walked down the corridor. He looked around and, after making sure that no one was going to lift one up and throw it at someone, bought a can of coffee. It was cold to the touch, but warm to the heart.
Author's comment: I have no idea if they celebrated OnoD's b-day in the studio or how they did it. I just sorta thought why not. Pretend that OnoD's a fictional character, k? (Real-life fics tend to get unrealistic if you don't know how they are.)
...what about my final tomorrow. /headdesk
