So the blisters on my feet are officially the most disgusting wounds I have ever had in my life. I'll spare you the gory (literally) details.
Tonight, I am seeing Architecture in Helsinki and the Books. I love double decker nights. It makes up for the fact that I didn't get out of bed until 1:30 today. Luckily I will be working here for the next two weeks, doing Sam Francis stuff. I really like having one thing planned every day because then I'm more motivated to plan more things -- like going to the beach!!!!! God, I can't wait.
I went to MOCA yesterday. The Visual Music exhibit that closes on Sunday is amazing. Lots of futurist-y paintings and experimental films. There's also an Abstraction exhibit that's great too, although it involved more Rauschenberg than I perhaps ever needed to see at one time. Oh, flatbed picture plane -- why must you involve so many dead animals? Unfortunately, there were no dead goats -- just lots of birds. I really want to see Monogram...maybe it will come with the big Rauschenberg exhibit later. That will maybe travel to New York even later than that.
If any of you are planning on doing an artistic tribute to me, please make sure it involves a dead goat with a tire on its head.
In other news, here are two things I can't wait for:
1. The new Star Wars at the Cinerama dome. GOD it is going to be SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
2. The dinosaur exhibit at the Natural History Museum. It will be up in New York until September 8 -- we have six days to get there, people! Plan accordingly.
And speaking of awesome museum exhibits, there is a huge mummy exhibit in Santa Ana. Which is far away. But they have so many mummies!!!!!!!! If you heard me scream in the radio station while talking about the new mummy (read: if you are Maia), you understand my desperation.
I have to unpack the four huge boxes I sent to myself. And write postcards to my far away friends.
