Uncarefull wish granted

It seems I have found work, so my road trip plans are cancled :( I will head back to Moms place in Olds, put away my barely developed self as homeless biker and re-activate my self as itenerant trucker / labourer. I really am running low on cash so this is a good thing, but I was looking forward to BC.

Stayed at the Strathcona Hotel at corner of Gateway and Whyte in Edmonton. This is one of the oldest buildings in Alberta and the structure has undergone noticeable deformation: this bend in the hallway is as-built but the floors are walls are not level.

Single room without bathroom is $40.00/night, not including $20.00 key deposit. There is a fine line between 'charming' and 'slum', but this place manages to stay on the right side of it. I love Edmonton and I love the Strathcona

Eco Cafe on south shore of Pigeon Lake. I heard about this place two years ago on CKUA radio and finally got around to it. Grub was very good, but a bit to studied. Decor theme of oriental spritualism did not seem to fit somehow. But it was still good.
I am posting this a week late, next post will cover my new job.

livejournal app on my phone truncated parts of my post; I had to edit it from my laptop :/
