i love some of my friends sometimes.
they finally did it! they took the big leap, despite the "advice" of others. i'm so happy for them!

other friends, not so much. but lets not get into that.

i wish that could happen to me.

I'm sorry. I can't resist:
She said "that we all want wonderful relationships" not "perfect." There is no such thing as a perfect relationship.
I feel better now.

But also, to play devil's advocate in a way, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You were criticizing lauren in this response, so you really have no right to judge lauren for supposedly criticizing something, especially when the conversation happened between lauren and someone she really cares about. You were not there, you can not possibly know with 100% certainty what was said.
Also, from an outsider looking in, I can't seem to find any notes of bitterness in what lauren has said. Like she said, everyone wants wonderful relationships. I'm sure she does as much as you do. How does this make her bitter? Especially seeing as you don't have said wonderful relationship and therefore have nothing over her that would cause her to feel bitter.
And once again, what was spoken between lauren and adam can only truly be known by them. Its funny that you have this version of criticism and resent, whereas I have a version of honesty and caring.
And yes, moving away to college may end certain relationships, but the ones worth keeping remain. That was what really got me. Yes, people develop new bonds, and talk to new people. But once again, you are in no position to pass judgement on the relationships in lauren's life. Her friendships with certain people at whs could be stronger than ever. If doing girl scouts for the short time I did taught me anything besides how to market cookies to a wide audience, it was this lovely little saying: "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold."
But besides all of that, the bottom line is, no matter what anyone's opinion may be, I know that I am really happy for my friends and wish them the best of luck! And I know for a fact that lauren feels the same, whether or not the hearsay going around reflects that ultimate view.
