Good Food...

Trying to console myself right now.  Getting back to work today after taking Friday off is pretty rough.  So I'm going to think about the food I've eaten lately.

BF's friends went to the Korean BBQ place at Market Village (Seoul Garden or Village...something).  It was sooo good.  They were a little slow in getting food out, but the service was good otherwise (especially since they were under-staffed...it was New Years Day after all).  It was AYCE and super cheap ($8/person).  The meat was well marinated, tender and flavourful.  My favourite thing: the grill.  It was so fancy!  It's built so that the meat cooks along the mid-section of the grill, and the fat drips down to the edges because it's on a bit of a slope!  I wish they had come by to wash off the grill, but it didn't char up as quickly as other places I've been.  I hear the soup is good (best to drink with rice due to the spicy heat).  The ribs are amazing!

After cooking up a storm on Saturday, BF, JC and I headed out to a Malaysian-Thai restaurant near church: Lime Leaf.  It being a pretty run down area of town, I went in without any pretensions.  I expected a humble place with simple food that just hits the spot (like the pho place near church).  Unexpectedly, I entered a really nice restaurant.  We sat in a booth, the muzak was pretty bad (a playlist of about 6 songs that we heard twice during our time there)...but the food.  Oh man!  We had a rice noodle dish that looked pretty much like a Singapore rice noodle thing, but it was so much better.  Not at all spicy, but the chicken and shrimp were really good.  We also shared a green curry with beef.  OMG!  I'm pretty picky about my curry only because I'm pretty used to my mom's or Chinese style green curry...but this was sooo good.  Super coconutty, pretty spicy...but the beef was so tender, the veggies were tender crisp even sitting in that sauce for half an hour...so good.  If only they were open on Sundays...
