I do not use this journal to divulge the deepest parts of my personalities, nor do I (often) go on diatribes about what should or shouldn't be going on in the world. I may go off every now & again on something I think inane, but more often than not the purpose of this journal is to share pieces of OUR family with those that we're no longer GEOGRAPHICALLY close to.
With that in mind, my mom offered up the idea that we should all tell dad how we felt about him in a letter or something along those lines so that we could present it to him at the celebration of his 70th birthday. We did this last night...and as you can see from the previous posts, it was a rousing success! Way to go Mom!!
I chose a "poem"...I'm not good at it...nor do I claim to be poetic...so if you're looking for Iambic pentameter...you are not going to find it....however...this dad of mine...My dad...well I figure having known him and having had the privilege to grow up in his househould, that I can allow myself this one indulgence and share with you the poem that I wrote for him. For you all would benefit from knowing him. The poem follows.......
