And on Marriage...

Frankly, I do not believe in marriage; It's but an outdated concept, long lost it's purpose, yet still remains, a testament on how religion shaped our legal systems. I don't see why love should have to be certified, nor do I see why other benifits are associated with such directly.

I'd propose 2 seperate certificates to replace the current marriage system: One for co-habitation/ownership, and another for child bearing and/or rearing. This would allow for greater access of said benifits, often associated with marriage only, to others who should rightly be applicable for such. Splinter family units should be just as elligible for home co-ownership tax benifits. Grandparents who take over the caring of a child, or single parents, should still get full parenting/family benifits. Marriage of convenience shouldn't be given said benifits if the parties aren't eligible for such.

That leaves the issue of love, but is this sometihng that should be handled under legal issues? Who is to judge what constitutes as love? Why should only non-platonic love fall under such measures? Something that is so individual shouldn't be restrained under law; It's not just about what happens in our personal space, it's about out beliefs, our inner thoughts.
