He has both bottles with him as he peruses the kitchen for something suitably celebratory.

Will knows Helen intended to ask Nikola's forgiveness, but he honestly wasn't sure how far she'd get. Apologies don't come easily to her and he's a little relieved to see Nikola out and enjoying the kitchen.

"I think the Big Guy made some hors d'oeuvres," he offers helpfully. "Can't remember where they are. Maybe in the pantry?"

"I'm worried if I steal them, he'll shed on my suits," Nikola says dryly.

"Well," Will would normally try to avoid ticking off the butler, but everyone's been so on edge lately a little impromptu party might just help tensions. "He is always telling me he only makes food so people can enjoy it."

"And I don't have any suits worth worrying about," Will concludes, ducking into the pantry and returning with an elegant array of savoury baked goods. "Look good to you?"

"If he comes after me, I'm blaming you," Nikola says, eyeing the pastries. "Sure I won't find fur in those?"

"I hope not," Will shrugs, grinning as he reaches for what seems to be a mini quiche. "It never killed anyone. Besides, you're immortal, no danger of that."

He takes a bite, sighing happily as he does. "These are good," he murmurs just after he swallows. "So far, fur free."

Nikola gets down an extra glass and pours them each some wine. He picks up a mini quiche and takes an experimental bite.

"Not bad."

"Goes okay with the wine," Will nods as he takes a sip. "Though I suppose it's hard for anything not to go well with a really good wine, isn't it?" He takes another sip and wonders if he can ask about Helen without getting smacked for his trouble. It would be nice if they're back to being civil, but apologies are not something Helen is any good at.

"Took down the barricade?" he asks lightly.

"I can think of a few things that would ruin a good wine," Nikola says.

He frowns slightly at the mention of his self-imposed lockdown. "It seems to be no longer necessary."

"Definitely an improvement then," Will teases. "It was far from aesthetic."
