There are a lot of actors I like in Flashforward. I think I recognize more than half the cast, which is weird, but makes me want to like the show.
The first episode didn't grab me much, though. I already knew the premise, that everyone blacks out and sees the future. Almost everything in the episode was kinda paint-by-numbers based on that, meaning I totally expected carnage in the streets and someone who only saw black. It wasn't bad, those elements all just seemed to drag for awhile.
However, that's just the first episode. I could very well be saying next week that they did a great job of building on that initial premise.
I do agree with you about the hook from the videos. That's good stuff.
My big worry is that the time travel logic will get too convoluted. From what we saw in the pilot, there are some things that already seem like logical inconsistencies. As a comic book writer, David Goyer *always* had big ideas that were casually thrown out to sound good, but didn't really make sense. Braga's history with time travel tropes makes me groan. Still, it wasn't bad so far. I can still hope that they came up with something that works out this time. If not, hopefully they at least don't spend too much time on anything that doesn't make sense.

My wife and I enjoyed the first episode. She got a little disturbed by the early scenes of pandemonium but I got the chills towards the end with the ballpark video. Hooked! I enjoy watching anyone from the Fiennes family tree and Cho brings out my geek-side.

Well, the thing about Flashforward (the novel) that fits with the Braga time travel trope is that his usual method for showing someone die and then having it be resolved without the person dying fits the model as set up by the book.
Though he used it so often, I think it may have passed the realm of plausibility for a lot of us, unless they use the same jargon as in the novel.
