Housecats reminds me a great deal of Two Lumps.

Oh, wow. Now I see it, too!

I sat behind the "Two Lumps" guy (or one of the guys. I think it's a team that creates it) on a bus two SDCCs ago. I'd read the strip, and I'd never envisioned a dude who was bigger than me and sported a mohawk would help bring to life a comic about two cats. It was kind of fun listening to him talk about how weird/cool it was to go to a con and have a room full of people clamor for you to hold court on your comic. :)

Aaron -- thank you! I am so glad you liked the art. <3 And I really did learn a lot from you, even though it was hard to hear in the exhibit hall! (: I really appreciate you taking the time to talk with us.

We've both got some more ideas that we're looking to put into practice now ... starting with improving the website interface, since it's totally non-obvious that Autumnside (which is totally done) comes before Winterside. Oops. Ehehe.

Still loving your work. (: Can't wait for the next PS238. <3

Dude, the Disney thing looks both amazingly awesome and amazingly creepy. Definitely an odd choice for the Wii ... I'd have expected it for the PS3, given the partnership with Square-Enix for Kingdom Hearts. Iiiiinteresting.

PS: take a good look at Zodon's control panels, if you haven't. Seems he likes more of the classics than he lets on ... (:

My only regret for the Disney title coming out on the Wii is that the detail won't be as high as it could be. Still, Goofy's never looked creepier (although he's still pretty creepy if you think about "A Goofy Movie." He has a son, Max, which means he reproduced with an as-yet unnamed character).

And yeah, the hall was pretty cacophonous. Over at the Adventure Retail booth we had the "Stargate: Universe" trailer blowing our hair back for a few hours when the con started. On a related note, I never asked why the Stargate/MGM booth had what looked like a werewolf (perhaps just a wolf) head mounted on the end of their booth facing our way. Anyone know?

Ohhh, I haven't been paying as much attention to Stargate spin-offs as I should; what are your thoughts?

Well, I'm a pretty big Stargate fan, as they did try to pay attention to continuity and detail over their long run, and the seldom got TOO campy or goofy (aside from when you could see the budget wasn't letting them spend the cashola on new props and so on). My main gripes were how the "Ancients" weren't terribly godlike for being ultra-evolved humans, and the Wraith had a kind of on-again off-again relationship with being menacing (kind of like the Borg; once you see them in good light and you have one talk with your cast a while, they stop being frightening).

So I do hope that SG:U delivers the goods. Without them delving into too much detail, the most remarkable thing is seeing Lou Diamond Philips back in action; it's been a while. :)

Youtube failed me but the mads on MST3K's invention exchange made one of these. It was on Robot Holocaust with the old Dr. Erhardt, before TV's Frank!, the mad's invention exchange for that week was a ski mask for bank robbers that offered expressions. Basically it was two pinball flippers attached to the ski mask with a remote controlling the gizmos that move the flippers up and down.

I should have consulted the Gizmonic Institute first.

I still loved it when Frank reanimated his chicken after deciding to become a vegetarian.

I've got a similar flute, only without the shiny polish. Suffice to say, yes, ceramic instruments are a wee bit more difficult to play than a standard metal one (or bamboo and glass, for that matter), and the tone is naturally going to sound a bit more breathy once you do get some music out of it.

Yeah, but Cristi is just showing off how she can actually make it sound flute-ish. I blame my goatee for somehow deflecting my breath rather than admit to a complete defeat based on a lack of talent. :)

But it is cool-looking, and it was a part of an estate liquidation (or so we were told) by an artist who had passed away. Sadly, the person selling it didn't have any other information about the person who made it.

Wow, I spent my whole childhood wishing I could just play with a robotic arm. *sigh* Now my dreams have come true!

Heh. I remember a friend having a Radio Shack model called the Armatron. Seriously, though, I can't help but think the box photo detracted from the "cool" factor significantly.

But when I first read "Darth Vader Arm," I was kind of hoping it was one you'd wear and frighten your siblings with.
