Dreams are weird. Very weird dreams last night. Very weird. Not as disconcerting as they usually are, but very weird nonetheless. Anyway, it doesn't really matter.
The other day at work we had a party. We're probably going to do it again on Friday (the day that will not end). Distractions are always good; they let you forget about things for a while. We like to forget.
So, I spent two weeks and countless hours folding paper. I made everything you see here. Batteries not included.
When you work so hard on a project, it's nice to see it done. It's also good to have people want to share in the fulfillment you feel upon its completion.
We had lots of food. I woke at 3 a.m. that morning and cooked like there was no tomorrow.
One of those "beautiful" people... inside and out.
Silly moments in time...
How many Japanese boys does it take to lift a 200-lb. man?
Psst... you got something in your teeth.
Friendship has no survival value, but it adds value to survival.
======================
Oh, and no, I didn't make all the food that was on the table. But I did make a killer macaroni and cheese casserole with a meat sauce and four cheeses that made everyone go home and slap their mama! I also baked a brownie loaf that messed with their heads, and I brought some muffins... that just sat there, staring at us like Hamlet's father. I didn't feel bad about that because I didn't cook the muffins, and the things I did cook were devoured in minutes.
It's nice to be appreciated. Still...
And, then, when the party's over...
Everybody's gone away.
We stare at an empty day.
What is there to do, or say?
