Wow, it's a real update from me. With real content and all!

After one week of classes, I still haven't sorted out my schedule completely. I really can't decide what to take...Arabic or Akkadian, Ancient Art or Intro to Roman History. Should I take the Ancient Near East course even though it's a first year...it would lighten my course load, but mean I'd have to take an extra course at some point later. So many dilemnas. I've even gone through the effort of writing a list of when all the tests are to help me narrow down my choices. The courses I am taking for sure (funny, since one of them wasn't even an option a week ago) are Biblical Hebrew (probably won't be a huge challenge with my knowledge of Arabic), and The Physics of Everyday Life (though even this one could end up lost in the shuffle...it's hard. I think the prof may have overestimated the ability of a bunch of arts students to do math at this level without any sort of review period. Stupid science course making me use my rusty math skills. Tutor, anyone? P!??)

Other than school, life is...well, nonexistent really. I like to let myself be sucked into the things that stress me so that they create a neverending downward spiral. And I said I wouldn't do that again this year. Silly, silly me!

Going up to the cottage this weekend, which should be either relaxing, or fun. But not both...not with the amount of people up there. Cedar Point next weekend which has me very excited! Millenium Force!!! Labour day weekend I had a kickass time at Massey's cottage despite my hurt back. Alcohol makes pain better, and mixes well with Robaxicet! Last weekend was Cassie's cottage where I had a most excellent time in such activities as midnight naked swim an hour late, huddling around the fire for warmth and seeing the absolutely incredible northern lights. My only complaint would be that Dave couldn't come.

Speaking of which, Dave found a new apartment that sounds great, with an incredible view, it's in a nice area and very convenient to cut down on his current ridiculous commute.

For those who didn't hear, I hurt my back about 2 weeks ago and it's still not better. I'm very pissed off. Yesterday I felt fine and was planning on biking to school tomorrow, today I've spent most of the day in a lot of pain. Ah well, at least it means I get to wear a skirt.

I keep seeing a commercial for some giant, gas-guzzling SUV, and it's really bothering me. Not only does this commercial advertise a giant, gas-guzzling SUV, but it does so in a way that seems to me to be slighting cyclists. Perhaps it's just my interpretation, but when a guy puts on a bike helmet to commute to work, then ends up jumping off a cliff and parachuting down to his giant, gas-guzzling SUV, it somehow seems they're trying to say "Cycling is for wussies. This guy's a real man. He uses a bike helmet like it should be used. Don't use environmentally friendly modes of transportation: GUZZLE GAS!"
