SG1 (non spoilery):
Huh. In some way it feels like they're trying too hard to keep this franchise not only viable, but also unchanging, dispite the stories they've already told.
Its like Mitchell is standing in for both the audience and the producers when he's running around trying to get the old team back together, when clearly they've all moved on to places that might actually suit them better and which they cannot leave without some trouble (particularly Teal'c, as my dad said it seems not only strange, but stupid for him to be leaving his people at a time like this). But then I don't have the investment in the old team in the same way that people who have been watching all the way through must have and I do see that.
I'm not sure if I'll watch the whole season, but I am interested enough to stick around for the first few episodes (although obviously I have reasons for that).
As to those reasons...I am such a dork. I *teared up* slightly at Vala and Mitchell's meeting, even though it wasn't important or big or anything. Just. Anyway. And then I was later vastly amused at Mitchell's giant man crush on Teal'c.
