After waiting over a month so Alissa and Ryan could join us at Raging Waters (Water Park), they bailed because Alissa was "ill". I recon more like the inability to get out of bed at 9am. Ryan really wanted to go but didn't want to get in trouble for leaving Alissa. It was annoying waiting all that time and then na-da! People of Santa Barbara really need to get with the program with respect to committing to plans, it makes it hard plan to anything. I guess it's people getting older, getting in serious relationships and losing the sense of adventure/fun. Not me!
We went anyway and it was brilliant, although we both ache all over!? It must be the sheer number of rides we took. I convinced Laura to head down Drop Off, the near vertical slide - twice! My favorite was the speed slides, one of which launches you off the slide three times because of the bumps - awesome! I want to go again, but midweek when the crowds are at a minimum.
Speaking of planning, I'm booking a cabin up in Tahoe for an extended weekend. I was thinking Mammoth but I've never been to Tahoe so that's where we're heading. I've got a number of taker (those who wont back out) already. End of January - interested? I guess I could take the entire week off as well and head up to Crater Lake and hike the ridge.
I've also got tentative plans to go mountaineering, with some guys from England, in Washington State at the end of November. Bring on the snow!
