My Grandpa passed away on Thursday so this has been the craziest week. It was a bit unexpected seeing as he was fine on Wednesday, got Pneumonia on Thursday, went to the ER, got better, then a week passed then the antibiotics stopped working so they took his oxygen mask off, assuming he'd live for a few more days but he only lasted 45 minutes. He was supposed to gasp for air I guess, but he just peacefully stopped breathing. I was going to see him on Friday but that's life. I guess Alzheimers patients die from Pneumonia because they swallow wrong. So this was the way he was going to go. The crazy thing is Brad died 5 years ago the same day.. and his funeral was the 27, same as my grandpas. and their wakes were at the same place. So next year, Feb. 23, i'm going to sleep all day and make sure everyone close to me stays inside and safe.. It's been a rough week, i have lots to say but none of you knew him so i won't type a long thing out. If anyone wants to talk to me then go for it.

I got to go with my family and aunts and uncles to plan the funeral which was nice. I chose the songs that were sung and got to listen to stories and remember how amazing my grandpa was. He started the Brooklyn Park Fire Department from scratch and he's the reason the trucks are yellow.. He was fire chief forever so lots of fireman came to the wake which was nice. I made the picture boards which was a blessing since it made me laugh rather than be really sad for a little, cause he had so many goofy pictures.

The weird thing was how much my cousins and i enjoyed each others company at the wake. we always get along but we were just sticking together like no other and made each other laugh non stop. we found a room downstairs and my aunt brought tons of food for us so the ten of us hung out in that room for most of the time and i was the one who made us go up every half hour for like 5 minutes. We also were in charge of saving each other from the awkward conversation we got stuck in. It's awesome we all are so alike even if my mom and uncle kent were adopted, and when kent was adopted my grandma was already 3 months pregnant with twins but she didn't know it. one of the twins didn't make it which is a mixed blessing because my grandma would have had 3 babies at once! all 3 look alike which is silly. anyway I even bonded with my 3 yr old cousin who finally isn't scared of me. She said "he looks cute in his box" about grandpa. But she understood what was going on amazingly, she said he was "in God" which was so precious. Sad she'll never remember him, or my grandma who passed away about 8 years ago. Atleast they're together again.
