yesterday Graig Candy and I went to the national zoo. it was great.
we saw those jellyfish looking things that are from the deep deep ocean. they reminded me of the 'aliens' in the movie the abyss.
it seemed that the ppl who worked there were anxious to talk to us, as if no one is really interested in learning anything about the animals, so the workers are excited to talk to you if you are.
it was the first time i had been there since they opened the amazonia exhibit. man they had these seven foot long bent fish. and apparently they have to come up to the surface to breathe air every 15 minutes. that is one of the fun facts that the zoo lady offered.
and of course the reptile house was always a favorite.
Graig really wanted to go to the great ape house, and candy has a deep disgust for the great apes, but we ended up going in anyway. i don't really like the apes. especially in a zoo, since they look sad and pissed at us for just staring at them 24/7. i wouldnt like that either. so i guess i just get depressed look at the orangutans and the gorillas. monkeys are fine though since they are too simple to get depressed imo.
it was just a great day in general. after we went and candy bought some sneakers and grieg and i got jackets at hot topic. i normally am appalled by hot topic, but while i was looking through the stuff i was like "if only they had something with a transformers icon on it..." About a minute later Candy lifted up a jacket
a black and stripy grey track jacket. with a large deceptacon icon on the left breast. it was like i was destined to buy it.
but they i saw that the sale price was 28$
but then candy pointed out the 50% off listed price sign
so it was 14%
and they she told me grieg is an employee. and he gets 40% even sale prices
so the jacket was 7?8?$
and then the new roommate came over and hung out before we went over to jeremy and lisa's for some of that show
'big love' the "creepy mormon show" as we like to call it.
the ppl watching at the zoo is as good as the animal watching.
