weekend update
drinking decaf coffee for the morale boost on this suddenly rainy day after a weekend of extreme edenitude. and what a weekend! full of peak experiences and out-of-town visitors. my old ugandan friend from when i worked at the cdc in entebbe (when i started this lj!), aggie, is in town for a flow cytometry conference (you know) and is staying with us for almost a week. on friday we ate a cheeseburger and watched openly gay couples play with their kids in cal anderson park : welcome to america. my "how did we become friends again?" friend brad was in town from DC, checking out the law school, checking in with dearly beloveds. you know those people who like, your whole being becomes just a cherishing of their existence when they're around? and like, nothing else really needs to happen? it's like that. and then what's more my friend justin "oh dude do NOT have moved to san jose for some reason" wood came up for a surprise visit and i got (great honor) to screen a rough cut of his indie feature length movie "the search for kennyboy" which was amazing. in conclusion: friends!
we also played a show on saturday night - princess seismograph's second show evar - at the lovely house of the rising sun. you guys it was so much fun. i'll post video when it becomes real but man... loved the other folks we played with (mongrel jews! bear claw! mai li and nova!) and just generally had an incredible time, specially thanks to all our lovely friends who came out to support us. oh man. gotta get back to work, it's a busy one today! loooooove love love.
