I HATE YOU BOOK.
I'm finally making serious progress in beating down this goddamn life-stealing beast. I am THIS CLOSE to kicking it out of my house and into the wide world, where it will promptly come back to me for revisions. Then it will come back to me for proofs. After that, of course, I get back into the fun part of being an author, when I try very hard to get booked on Conan as "that crazy history guy" and read sections from the book in four or five coffee shops and fend off the mobs of screaming historical reference groupies.
To-morrow, voting starts for the Des Moines Juice blog contest. You should vote for me!
1) It will make Des Moines cooler.
2) I'll actually blog again on a regular basis.
3) I'll get into it with the lunatic right-wing fringe that runs the message boards over there.
