On sacred music

The exclusion of Christian sacred music from school curricula in the name of equality has always dismayed me. I grew up listening to Indian classical music, and never really appreciated it until I made an effort to understand it as an adult. Yet I am immediately drawn to and captivated by many sacred works from the Christian musical tradition. I offer my example not as an unshakeable proof but as a rebuttal to those who claim that only Christians find their music to be the most easily accessible. I tell you, nothing in the literature compares to Bach's B-Minor Mass. (100)
