I was reading over previous entries today and marveling at the differences in my relationship between then and now... I almost feel like it would make an interesting book for other partners to read. I don't know if you know it, but a while back I got this idea to write a book. I was thinking of doing in a journal style, kind of like "Dear M. Crenshaw", and I wanted to do it about my relationship with my girl ( ... )

Yeah, that pretty much exactly what I was thinking.

I wouldnt say that I have become a DIFFERENT person through my experiences with Anna and the transgender community, but I have certainly learned many things I might never have otherwise known. I think one of the biggest deals for me is that, while I have always championed for equal rights for everyone, I really did not realize that this particular minority group existed, and faces all the troubles, if not more, that every other minority group faces. I guess that was ignorant of me... and now I have learned to face the fact that even an educated, intelligent, open-minded person can be blind to the troubles of others. It makes me wonder what else I have missed, and now I try to be more proactive...

But yes, I think it would be great if such a book existed and was mainstream enough to open more eyes... while also providing much needed perspective for those in similar situations.
