Title: What Would You Do if I Kissed You?

Author: Welleg

Relationship: Sky/Bridge

Rating: PG-13

Warning: nothing really

August 13, 2020. POV: Sky

"Thanks for letting me stay with you while my parents are wrapping up things back in Silver Hills, Dr. Bly."

"Bridge, how many times do I have to tell you not to call me that.  I'm either Katarina, Sky's mom, or if you insist on being formal, Mrs. Bly."

"Okay, Mrs. Sky's mom."  I roll my eyes for which Mom glares at me.  My best friend can be so well, odd sometimes.

"That works too.  You boys want to head into SPD with me tomorrow.  I already talked to your mom Bridge and she said it's fine."

"I'm in if Bridge is."  Mom gives me the 'no, duh' look because she knows I never pass up a chance to go to New Tech City.  Though I'm sure Commander Cruger wishes she would leave me at home more often.

"Yeah, sure.  That would be fun."  The interesting part will be seeing his reaction when he meets Cruger.  The only bad part is he might not shut up for days.

"I'm sure you'll really love it.  SPD is so awesome."  Mom rolls her eyes.

"Says the person that's wanted to someday join SPD since he was six."

"That just reinforces the fact it's awesome."

"Whatever you say, kiddo.  Don't pay any attention to him Bridge."

"Mom!"

"DInner was really great, Mrs. Sky's mom.  Or should I be thanking Mr. Bly?  After all, I'm not sure who did the cooking."  Xander just stares at Bridge with a confused look on his face.  As weird as it sounds, hopefully there will be a lot more dinners like this in the future.

"Mrs. Sky's mom?  Dare I ask?"

"It's better than Dr. Bly.  And thanks for the compliment, Bridge.  Xander isn't allowed to cook so the credit is all mine."  Xander rolls his eyes as he does every time Mom rags on his cooking abilities.

"Nearly burn the house down once, and you never live it down."

"It was Mac and Cheese, Xan.  I think I'm justified.  Help me out with the dishes, Sky?"  That's the last thing I want to do, but it will keep Mom from embarrassing me in front of my best friend.  And potential boyfriend.

"Sure, Mom."

"Thanks, kiddo.  Everyone else out of the kitchen."  As soon as everyone clears the room, she asks the question I know she's been dying to ask since we sat down to dinner.

"You tell him yet?"

"No, not yet."

"Why, not?  You already know he's gay."

"I know that Mom.  It doesn't mean he likes me that way though."  She rolls her eyes at me.

"You won't know unless you tell him.  Not to mention with his power he may have some suspicions, even though your shields make you a tough nut to crack."

"I'm just afraid of messing up our friendship."

"Sky, just tell him."

*****

"Alright.  Enough with the video games, you too.  Time to go to bed."

"Do we have to, Mom?"  I know what her answer will be, but anything to stall telling Bridge for a little longer.

"Considering I go to bed when you go to bed, yes.  I can't keep staying up until 2:00 AM because you're an insomniac."  Thanks, Mom.  You just had to go embarrass me didn't you.

"I am not!  Just because I stay up late does not mean I'm an insomniac."

"It just means that except for days you go to work with me I have to forcibly drag your butt out of bed.  Now go to bed."  She throws a pillow at me as she mouths 'And tell him, damn it.'

"Good night, Mom."

"Good night, Mrs. Sky's mom."

"Night boys."  She turns the light off as Bridge and I settle into our sleeping bags.  It's now or ever.

"Bridge, can I ask you something?"

"Um, yeah, sure.  What is it Sky?"

"Would your power cause problems if you were to be in a relationship?  You know with skin contact overloading your powers and everything?"

"I'd be able to build up to greater levels of contact eventually.  Or at least that's how it's supposed to happen.  I don't know for sure.  My parents are afraid of hurting me and..."

"Bridge!"

"Yeah."

"What you would do if I kissed you?"

"I'd tear your clothes off and ravage you."  I stare at my best friend in shock.  That is until he bursts out laughing.

"Why, you.  Though I have to say, I never would have thought you had such a dirty mind, Bridge."

"You don't know the half it.  I don't think kissing is a good idea quite yet.  Even though my boyfriend has such pouty lips - perfect for kissing."

"Boyfriend?  Really?"

"Well, um yeah."

"Good.  We should get some sleep though.  Mom will be waking us up pretty early."  Bridge scoots his sleeping bag closer to mine and takes my hand in his gloved one.

"Good night, Sky."

"Night, Bridge."

August 14, 2020.  POV: Katarina

This is quite a sight.  Though it means Sky finally said something.  As much as I would love to continue to stare at the two teenagers holding hands in their sleep, that won't get me to work on time.  I do however manage to grab the camera and take a couple pictures.  Sky will be mortified, but it's worth it.

"Rise and shine you two."

"Just five more minutes, Mom."  Sky mutters as he attempts to snuggle further into his sleeping bag.  Bridge, on the other hand, snaps his eyes open, looks at his and Sky's entwined hands, and then looks at me guiltily.

"Um, good morning.  Um, this isn't what it looks like.  We um..."

"Bridge.  I don't mind.  Now tell your boyfriend if he's not in the kitchen in two minutes, the couch cushions will magically attack him."  Sometimes flying pillows are the only way to get that boy up.

"Um, okay Mrs. Sky's mom."

I get all the breakfast fixings out, including bread and butter for Bridge's buttery toast, and set the orange juice on the able just as the boys walk in the kitchen.

"Magically attacking couch cushions?"  Sky asks as he pours himself a glass of oj.

"The threat got you up, didn't it?  And no sex until you're eighteen."  Sky about chokes on his orange juice and I hear a clink meaning Bridge dropped the butter knife.

"Um, mom?"

"Well since you have a boyfriend now, I figured I should mention it."

"Well did you have to mention it in the kitchen?  In front of Bridge."  I have to chuckle at that one.

"But it's just so much fun embarrassing you sweetie."

"Gee thanks."  Sky turns beet red and Bridge tries not to laugh at his boyfriend, but fails and doubles over in laughter.

Part 2 of Chapter 3 coming soon - I hope.  I still have to figure out how Bridge will react to meeting the "big blue dog."
