Kim HeeChul was known for his sharp tongue and wit. He was often quick to a reply and rarely could anyone offer a challenge he didn’t have a scathing retort for. Every now and then, someone would come along who was able to stump him, surprise him so much that he was forced into silence. One very obvious example was Anya, who was unlike any other girl that he’d ever met before. But she was foreign, and so didn’t really count.
There was one other person who had a strikingly similar effect on his speech capabilities, though for very different reasons. Jeong YoonHo had a tendency to talk on and on as if tomorrow wasn’t coming and he had to get his words all out before time ran out. This left no room for conversation from anyone else, but HeeChul rarely felt the need to jump in when the younger boy was speaking. Something about the quality of YoonHo’s voice made him want to stay quiet and keep listening in the hopes that the other boy would go on.
Even though it had been a long time since the younger boy’s debut, HeeChul kept up the habit of calling him at least once a week so that they could catch up. Though he really did want to hear about the recent occurrences in the Dong Bang household, the older boy was primarily interested in the soothing quality of YoonHo’s voice on his nerves. But selfish as his reasons were for keeping up this weekly habit, YoonHo was equally selfish in participating. As much as he liked to talk to the other Dong Bang members and staff, there were some topics reserved especially for these private phone conversations.
