Alright, so I just got to Austin two nights ago, and I'm shocked. I never expected Texas to be remotely scenic; just dry, sparse, and boring. But it's beautiful here. There are lots of hills, and the land is lusciously green. Then again, I've heard that it's mostly West Texas that's truly boring.

Right now I'm working and living at a collective in the woods called BioSqat. It's a relief from the nauscious, choking, dirty air of New Orleans. I'm still recovering from the mold in the squat I was staying at there. But this BioSquat place is amazing. Most of the structures are made from old bikes and scrap steel. It looks like some post-apocalyptic hideaway that's building up its own sustainable community. And that's exactly what it is. There's always really good food there too, since we're just down the street from some really sweet dumpsters. We're going to stay there for a few days, and then on Monday, we're probably going to leave for Tucson, Arizona. I'm excited to see the desert, especially so I can see the stars where this no light pollution. I'm anticipating something mesmerizing. I remember when we first got to the forest in Ocala, I was shocked by the stars, as I had never seen so many. We went far into the woods, miles away from any civilization, and when I looked up at the stars, it blew me away. It shocks me how far removed most of us are from nature. We've surrounded ourselves with all this unnecessary bullshit, and enveloped ourselves into this cyclical lifestyle of misery and routine. Being in the woods however, changes that for sure. Your entire mindset changes from uptight and focused to very organic, natural, and free.
