2 weeks of rollercoaster....

1st, money is tight...very tight, they've reduced my Child Tax Benefit due to higher income this last year.

2nd, my car gets stolen...gets found by police before I notice it is gone, but they forget to cross reference and I don't get told about it being in impound for over 2 days. They got the bill from the tow company. All is okay though because whoever took it didn't get a chance to do anything..so my engagement ring and id are untouched. They went from my drive straight into a road check and ditched the car.

3rd, I notice my dog is losing more weight in a rapid hurry...far more than heat and finickiness could account for. But I notice on Friday too late for the Vet...Monday, bad news. She has cancer and the masses are not only spread throughout, but so large they are preventing her from doing more than nibbling from our hands.

4th, I find out from my new direct sales company that I'm actually succeeding at my business. Small successes, but successes none-the-less. I have my first bit of compensation on its way to me as I type this.

5th, the dryer we thought was hooped actually just needed the back cleaned out and the breker reset.

6th, I sent my puppy of 8.5 years (older than my children) to the Rainbow Bridge. She wasn't in pain yet, but it wouldn't have been long. I refused to allow her to be in pain and I am not selfish enough to keep her here with painkillers...she was starving and it would have only have prolonged the inevitable.

I decided to have a few drinks in her honour...got thoroughly hammered. Then went to ritual the next day. I'm soooo glad I didn't have to lead it! That would not have been a good thing.

sigh...

Oh, and I get to meet with my new Director of Care at work tomorrow night. Apparently, she likes to come onto nights and talk with the night staff every couple of months to catch up with them. I've only been asking our previous DOC to do that since she arrived...and now she's on to other opportunities. I think this is a good thing...unless she's going to take the side of a couple of my co-workers that only do dayshift and complain because I do a better job than they and they are trying to find problems with my work to "take me down a few notches."
