What a week

Today I was informed that due to budget problems at work they will not be renewing my contract. That is right, on June 30th, the day after my birthday, they will be terminating my employment at the university ( Read more... )

I was at the university for 6 years, in fact this September would have been my 7th.

At the time I was very upset to hear about this, but I figure that I will bounce back and hopefully the person that contacted me from ITS will like what he sees on my resume and offer me something there.

Owch, it's never cool when that happens especially when it's because of the budget. You're a smart guy, I know you'll pick something else up, but it's never nice especially a day after your birthday... *hugs*

Seems like everyone I know is having work-related lay off issues.

I'm sorry to hear this Prpl :( but I know that with all your credentials and learning and expertise, people would have to be totally idiotic to not want to hire you in this field elsewhere.

So sorry to hear this, prpl. With the amount of experience you do have, though, it should make you a valuable asset to the ITS and I'm sure they'll see that in you.
