John knows something awful is going to happen. The music was becoming suspenseful.

He'd first started to notice it when he met Sherlock Holmes. Everything involving him caused the music to change depending on the situation. The last time the music had swelled this loudly was when they were in the pool facing against Moriarty.

He rushed back to Bart's as quickly as he could, his heart racing as the music sped up in excitement but it wasn't the same as when they had a chase around London. He paid the cab and ran to the door when he paused he felt his phone vibrating but that wasn't what made him stop, it was the music.

It had stopped.

The Music had NEVER just suddenly stopped before and it made his heart clench. He answered the phone and for once begged in his mind for the music to play something, anything. He listened to Sherlock as he told him to stand and face the roof. It was quiet and so very tense as Sherlock spoke to him, but the music had slowly started up again, soft and quiet. It was the type of music people made confessions to, and John felt his heart break at it as Sherlock told him he was a fraud a fake.

The music was quiet as he looked into Sherlock's eyes his tone stern telling Sherlock No, he couldn't say goodbye. The music rose as drums were introduced leaving john frozen as the beat echoed in his ears.

He had to stop him, he tried to say anything but all he could do was cry Sherlock's name as the music reached a crescendo and deafened him and suddenly it was quiet again and all he could hear was his pleading to let him through.

He never heard the Music again after that.

It was quiet, too quiet and John felt so alone
